Hiragana - Preparation

Let's start to read the Hiragana sentences.
First, please learn the basic rules such as the particles and the question marker in Japanese sentences.

Kana Tables

About the particle WA.

The particle "wa" is not written in (wa), but written in (ha).

1. わたし たなかです。

Watashi wa Tanaka desu.

I am Tanaka.

2. こんにち

Konnichiwa

Hello, Good afternoon, Good day

"Konnichiwa" was originally from the greeting expression "Konnichi(today) wa gokigen ikaga desu ka?".
which means "How are you today?". So, it is not written in こんにち.

About the particle O.

The particle "o" is not written in (o), but written in (wo).
In everyday Japanese, the particle is pronounced not "wo", but just "o".

3. わたし ほん よみます。

Watashi wa hon o yomimasu.

I read a book.

In specific situations, for example, many singers pronounce it "wo" in order to emphasize.
Watashi wa Anata WOOO! aishiteimasu.
(I love you!)

About the particle E.

There are two direction markers e and ni meaning "to".
The particle "e" is not written in (e), but written in (he).

4. わたし おおさか いきます。

Watashi wa Oosaka e ikimasu.

I (will) go to Osaka.

5. わたし おおさか いきます。

Watashi wa Oosaka ni ikimasu.

I (will) go to Osaka.

We, CosCom, use "ni" instead of "e" as the direction marker.

About the question marker

In ordinary Japanese writing, there is no qestion marker "?".
The (ka) is used at the end of a sentence.

6. それ なんです

Sore wa nan desu ka?

What is it?

About spaces in a sentence.

In ordinary Japanese writing, there is no space between each word.
The particles could be a break, but it should be attached to the preceding word.

7. わたしうちほんよみます。
読みます。

Watashi wa uchi de hon o yomimasu.

I (will) read a book at home.

8. たなかさんおおさかいきます。
田中さん大阪行きます。

Tanaka-san wa Oosaka ni ikimasu.

Tanaka-san (will) go to Osaka.
