| Greg went back his country last week. |
| 4. | Smith-san wa Kurisumasu kuni ni kaerimasendeshita. |
| Smith did not return to his country for Christmas. |
Beginner 2 - Functional Patterns
| 5. | Tanaka-san wa ashita Nihon ni kaeru soo desu. |
| I heard that Tanaka will come back to Japan tomorrow. |
| 6. | Kyoo 5-ji madeni uchi ni kaeranakereba narimasen. |
| I have to go home by 5:00 today. |
